How To Link And Post Pictures
« on: March 20, 2017, 10:36:59 pm »
While we do not support pictures to be uploaded directly onto the Forum, we fully support linking them in your posts.

Linking pictures in your posts is simple and the forum supports pictures located on Google Photos, Photobucket, Facebook or almost any other picture host.

There are a few points to note that we will cover below.
The main point is, that you need to make sure, you use the correct link for the picture to be visible in your posts.

Google Photos
1.   Login to your Google Photos account and select the folder that contains your picture(s) you would like to post
2.   Select the picture you would like to show in the forum (Note: please make sure you have set the sharing preferences accordingly. More info here)
3.   The picture will then open and the only picture visible in your browser window
4.   Right-click the picture and select the Copy image address (Chrome and Safari) and Copy Image Location (Firefox)
5.   In the PCI forum go to the comment box where you have, or will, write your post and select the "mona lisa-icon" at the bottom left corner.

6.   Now paste the link you have copied in Google Photos between [im g] and [/ img ]
7.   You can select Preview to check if the picture you have posted will be visible before posting your content or Post to post your message and picture

Photobucket
1.   Login to your Photobucket account and select the folder that contains your picture(s) you would like to post
2.   Select the picture you would like to link in the forum
3.   Once the picture is visible in your browser you will notice a few links on the right hand side

4.   Simple select and copy the link in the "IMG" field
5.   Now paste the link you have copied in Photobucket in the comment field here in the forum
6.   You can select Preview to check if the picture you have posted will be visible before posting your content or Post to post your message and picture

Thanks very much for doing this Pascal, it's hard to grasp for some like me first few times but once you get the hang it's a breeze. Maybe get a fellow PCI member who lives close to show you if you get stuck, or bring your device to a meet/event.

I use Google photos ( formerly Picassa I think ). One important thing there is to make the photo " share with public".

Thanks again.
"You hear that, do you hear that? 9000 rpm flat six son, nothing else  in the world sounds like that. I love the sound of a flat six in the morning. The sound you know that flat six sound. Sounds like victory  "
